GLAZIER work on all types of glass and glass substitutes in commercial, residential and transportation applications. In commercial applications, they fabricate and install aluminum storefront frames, entrances and skylights. In residential applications, they install doors and windows. In transportation applications, they repair and replace windows and windshields in vehicles. Performing tasks:
- Performs safety-related functions and common occupational skills.
- Fabricates and installs commercial window and door systems.
- Installs residential window and door systems.
- Fabricates and installs specialty glass and products (including vehicles).
- Services commercial and residential window and door systems and specialty glass products.

The Red Seal Program, formally known as the Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program, is a program that sets common standards to assess the skills of tradespeople across Canada. The industry is heavily involved in developing the national standard for each trade. It is a partnership between the federal government, provinces, and territories responsible for apprenticeship training and trade certification in their jurisdictions.
